Judge the Star Gallery
The Star Gallery is an online area that contains art for you to download. It also contains the entries in our latest contest. Each entry in the Star Gallery can be rated by our users.

We'd like you to help judge all the entries in our Star Gallery. But, most importantly, we'd like you to help us judge the entries in our latest contest.

It's real easy - just open the Star Gallery from your ANIMOIDS program, click on the "New Contest" link to see entries from our latest contest, download an entry so you can have a good look at it, then click the "My Opinion" link to give the entry a rating between one and five stars.

The added benefit to you is that you've just download art that you can use in your own creations!

The Star Gallery
You can view the Star Gallery either from a conventional web browser or via your ANIMOIDS program. However, you can only judge entries from your ANIMOIDS program.

Open the Star Gallery from your ANIMOIDS program by clicking the Star Gallery button in the ANIMOIDS toolbar:

When you click this button a web page shows up that's looks like the following:

This page shows the art from our online database.

Selection Area

The light blue area on the left of the Star Gallery is the Selection Area. The links in this area allow you to select the entries you want to see. When a selection is active the link turns from blue to brown. The page remembers a sequence of links. So, if you click the "New Contest" link followed by the "Behaviors" link you see the Behaviors from the latest contest. Note that, by default, you only see entries with average ratings of 4 Stars and above. So if you wanted to see all the Behaviors you'd need to click the "All Qualities" link also. At any time you can get back to the default display by clicking the "Reset defaults" link. If you want to view (then Judge) all the entries from the latest contest, click the "New Contest" link, click the "All Qualities" link and make sure the "All types" link is selected.

My Opinion
Each of the entries in the Star Gallery have a "My Opinion" link.

When you click that link a dialog opens:

The dialog shows you your previous opinion of this entry (if any) and gives you five clickable images which you click to select a new opinion.

Click the "Done" link to close the dialog.

If you want to see the effect of your change on the Star Gallery, redraw the Star Gallery page by clicking the "Refresh" button at the top of the page.

Note: you can only give your opinion of an entry if you have downloaded that entry. (We want to make sure you have really looked at it before we let you judge!) If you have not yet downloaded an entry and you open the "My Opinion" dialog you'll get a message that says:

You must download this file before you can judge it! (Click on the above thumbnail image to download the file.)

So, just do what the message says - click on the image of the artwork to start downloading it!

Show My Opinion
If you click the "Show My Opinion" link the individual "My Opinion" links will all be replaced with blue stars that show your rating for entries that you previously rated.

Once this option is selected, the pages will take a little longer to display. So, if you want to disable the option, just select the "Reset defaults" link.
