JMF for Mac
ANIMOIDS can't install the JMF file in most Macs because it requires administrator permission.
You should click the Install Java Media framework button as normal and proceed with
the update. However, the update itself will probably fail with a permission denied error.
If the "permission denined" error occurs, you'll need to manually copy the jmf.jar file from the Animoids folder into your
system library. That procedure is described below.
- Find the JMF_2_1_1_mac.zip file that was downloaded by Smart Update.
It's normally at:
/Applications/Animoids/data/temp/JMF_2_1_1_mac.zip
- Double click on this file to expand it into file jmf.jar. The expanded
file should normally be at:
/Applications/Animoids/data/temp/jmf.jar
- Manually move this jmf.jar file to the
/Library/Java/Extensions/
folder.
- Restart ANIMOIDS and the Java Media Framework should get recognized correctly.
Please print these instructions for use during the installation.
